SALUTING OUR VETERANS Ten residents at Rusthall Lodge, received their HM Armed Forces enamelled pin badges at a ‘Home Front’ themed event at the weekend. With entertainment throughout the day, the event culminated in a fly-past by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight’s Dakota from 233 Squadron.
They joined Linda in a rousing, flag waving, patriotic celebration of music and memories….. Rule Britannia, Jerusalem and Land of Hope and Glory. She took them on a heart warming trip down Memory Lane with unforgettable songs from the 1940s, songs that had inspired a generation, rekindling memories of days gone by when they shared a great spirit of comradeship, with a good old sing song… “Dear Linda, Lest we forget..
July 2014 - Linda joined the Saga Pearl II for a cruise to commemorate the 100th anniversary of The Great War, and the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings, paying tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of the men and women who were caught up in these terrible conflicts. |
